The Friends of Historic St. Peter’s Church

Together, We Preserve History

The Friends of Historic St. Peter’s Church, Inc., is a non-sectarian, non-profit organization, which has raised funds to rehabilitate and maintain this architectural gem in the heart of Spencertown, New York.  (Originally constructed in 1771, the Church building is now listed on the National and State Registers of Historic Places.)

Since 2005, the Friends organization has overseen the restoration of the church’s steeple, roof rafters, sills, foundations, and exterior paint.  Generous support has come from the Presbyterian congregation, the community, and private foundations and government grants.

In 2019 a new coated copper roof was completed with continued generosity of foundations and individuals.

But building exterior maintenance never ends.

Please consider how you might contribute to the continued work of preserving this historical treasure.  Time? Money? Both?

Consider how you might get involved, or contribute via check to the Friends of St. Peter’s, at PO Box 278, Spencertown, NY 12165 or Donate via PayPal.

Thank you for your support!

With a sure foundation, a stable steeple, exterior walls and windows restored, exterior painting, and a new roof — the work continues.
